Yeah F**king Right!!
kornkicksass_692 January 2004
Some of todays best skateboarders are in this video like Eric Koston and P-Rod. It had a really great filming job at the beginning when they filmed them at board level. Then they had some great parts like Heath's part (it sucks that he fell so far on that 50-50). Then the "magic skateboard" was really funny. The best thing is that the chocolate team is also in it. Then they deleted the boards and they weren't riding anything (watch it to understand). It' great.

yeah...right!

Only reason I did not give this film a 10 was due to some of the language and some of the "other scenes" other then that all the skate stunts were grade A! I have watched it over a dozen time with my 2 year old. One of his (2 year old) favorite parts is when babel (sp?) is skating the strip of benches in from of the stores and breaks the glass on the store front...why they left that in there...who knows! Do they have any other films? I'm not sure how I ended up even renting this film, but I'm glad I did. Back in the day I used to skate, but I was never this good. I think I am going to go buy a board and learn a few new tricks. These guys make every kick flip look SO EASY. I had mixed feeling about the crash shots, but that just keeping it real. FL Bill

Girl Film do it again. Incredible.
chrishc2 June 2003
Warning: Spoilers
Girl's Goldfish and Mouse - ar all time classic skate movies - right up there with Unquestionable, Video Days and yes goddammit Animal Chin. Spike Jonze is on hand to lend his uniquely goofy vision - in several segments such as the lovely invisible board sequence, and a very, very funny skit starring multi nosed Owen Wilson - worth seeing for this alone - a very simple class in clever mis-direction. As for the skating...well, whaddya want? Just look at the girl team - you get it all - big and tech. If you're stunned by Rick McCranks part you're gonna go nuts for Kostons. Mike Carroll has a pretty good section here too, shame Guy Mariano could only pull one trick out of the bag.

(SPOILERS)

Yeah Right! features each team member pulling an insane trick, with the kicker ramp photoshopped out - see if you can spot them.

Worth buying without a doubt, you'd be crazy to not watch it.

the best skate video ever made
DDeftones9 April 2004
this movie has brilliant camera work, great skaters, and an amazing soundtrack. It goes past the normal boundaries of skateboarding videos and finds art in the sport. The slow-motion work floored me. Its been done before in other videos, but it was so smooth here. Another really cool thing was the use of the green boards and ramps. Seeing a skater ollie over a highway for the first time was unbelievable. Its too bad that this movie was not released in theaters, it is really that good.

I recommend this movie to all skateboarders and also to anyone looking for something that is fun to watch. Spike Jonze is a genius.

A New Classic

Spike Jonze comes in to direct yet another Girl video. He truly shines with his over the top skits. Almost all of the Girl riders make an appearance, except for Guy Mariano who might as well stay at home and live off of board royalties like the leech that he is. Best part is a toss up here between McCrank, Koston, Carroll, and Marc Johnson. Any one of the four could take it, but I'm leaning towards Koston/Johnson due to the level of innovation from both. A great soundtrack goes a long way towards making a video good or bad, and this video does not disappoint. Everything from Bowie, to a quick Public Enemy cameo (along with Owen Wilson). Marc Johnson takes the award for funniest skit, it ties in with his first Chocolate board graphic, and it's hilarious.

This video is different from others released recently in that it's not all hammers and rails and whatnot. While there are a fair amount of rail tricks in this video, a lot of the focus is on tech tricks, something not seen much in this heyday of rail ams. This video is a breath of fresh air.

On a downside, as I previously mentioned, Guy Mariano has ONE trick. One. He last appeared in a video 4 years ago, with the Chocolate tour. He had 4 years to film for this video, and get got one trick. The footage looks old too. There's absolutely no excuse for him not having a full part. Anyone who has seen his part in Mouse will see this as the biggest disappointment of the video. Among other disappointments, Rick Howard doesn't have a full part either, but has a fair amount of footage.

The skits in this video surpass the skits in Mouse tenfold. They are hilarious. Once you see the no-board skit, you won't be able to stop laughing. They didn't photoshop the boards out, they green-screened them out. Hence the bucket of green boards on the back of the tape box. Also watch for tricks in the video with green/blue screened kicker ramps. Its funny the first few times, and then you sorta start wishing that they hadn't done it.

Overall, I'd say this is a 9/10. It would get the extra star if Mariano had a full part, or even a few more tricks. (no Sheffey footage either, but he was in jail)

im a die hard girl/choc fan,i love this vid, although ty made it a lil'to much transworld and a tad too long. shame about Mariano and Shef, but that was to be expected. Kenny had the best part, next to Marc and although everyone loves them,i hated carrol's and gino's parts. hats off,to the keenan tribute!you are missed greatly. one more thing,if this is in Spikes filmography, why isnt classics like "rubbish heap",and "video days"?,they put him on the map!

Yeah, Right! It is good!
masterofthejewniverse19 February 2006
Yeah Right is an excellent movie if you are interested in skate boarders and the sport (art really) of skate boarding. This movie features thousands of amazing tricks. For example, Eric Konstons grind around a curved handrail, Paul Rodrigez's Backwards skate board maneuvers, Reynold's backwards 360 degree spin down a large grass hill, Chris Coles magnificent 360 degree kick flip down a large set of four sidewalks, and crowd favorite Ryan Shecklar hard-flipping the famous El Toro 20 stair set. All I can say is, wow! Buy this video, and you will be so excited. In one section, the riders use some kind of levitating skateboard device (obviously a top secret project) to do sweet moves down stairs and slopes!

If you want to get into skateboarding, watch this!
pizzi8928 November 2004
First of all Heath Kirchart isn't in Yeah Right! you must have been thinking of the Emerica video or some Alien Workshop video. When I see this I was truly amazed, its truly inspirational. The Keenon tribute is quite moving. When the slow-mo deck close up comes on its a beautiful way to show the simplicity of skateboarding.

The skating is good. Brian Anderson has so much style, Marc Johnson- tricks done flawlessly executed to make them look so easy. Paul Rodriguez and Jereme Rogers have brilliant parts, so much talent from the young 'uns!. Rick McCrank and Mike Carroll- always inspirational but ending section could only go to one of the best street skaters in the world- Eric Koston. Pulls out all the hammers but you've got to see his last trick. The ending montage/credits was quite good, one of my favourite parts of the video. The montage in the middle was quite exceptional the build up and so-on was good, a little bit disappointed with Guy Mariano only having one trick but good so see Rick Howard skating so well. The Owen Wilson section was strange yet very entertaining (It is Eric Koston that skates not Owen Wilson)

The soundtrack for Yeah Right is perfect. All the songs fit each persons style of skating. This is a brilliant video to get into skateboarding, I recommend buying it and the video lived up to its high expectations. I nearly forgot to mention the special effects showcased in the video, The first being the skateboard they keep passing to each other, that section was brilliant. the second being the 'skatetrix' which was a little ridiculous but still good as it has never been used in a skate video, The last was the invisible board section which was quite entertaining. Oh yeah and the invisible ramps popping up throughout the video.

Go buy this video or see it. Its truly amazing! one of the best skate videos ever made
