At first, I did not know that Denys de la Patellière made episodes for TV, and am surprised that he directed Maigret series. This episode is quite interesting because it talks of an investigation in the middle of big scale industry moguls. And the Maigret character shows a deep contempt for those wealthy people so arrogant and themselves overbearing with people not from their world. Including Maigret himself. I guess this idea was faithful to Georges Simenon's meanings. The characterization is very strong and convincing, especially Jean Topart who seems here better than usual. But I did not see him much else where the movie business. He should have done more in that field. I sometimes think of the Columbo scheme, but only for the global scheme, not the details. Jean Richard is not Peter Falk and Columbo certainly not Maigret.
