dogs and monkeys?
planktonrules1 June 2011
Like so many silent cartoons, after the success of films like "Steamboat Willie", the studio that created this short later retrofitted it with music and sound effects in order to make it more marketable in a post-silent age. The sound effects are good but the music seems too loud and not exactly a good fit with the cartoon.

The cartoon stars a couple of monkeys. One is kidnapped and the other gives chase--while a bad Snidely Whiplash like dog and his pirate buddies try to stop the hero monkey. None of this is particularly distinguished compared to other cartoons of the era, though it's an agreeable enough cartoons for fans of early animation. Not spectacular but not a total waste of time.
