Couples Romance that hit my spot, though clearly underachieving
lor_24 September 2019
One of innumerable movies aimed at couples made by Nicholas Steele during his fruitful career at Adam & Eve, "Sweet Sounds" spotlights beautiful Aussie actress Monica Mayhem as both sexy performer and singer, actually delivering the original song "Spirit" for the movie. Her rendition is repeated about four times, a failing here, as even though I was taken with the sultry ballad, delivered in the cooly sexy manner of a Sade. a few additional songs would have helped.

Steele's slim story line has her trying for and succeeding in landing a record contract, and that's about it. There are six arousing sex scenes, but the picture lacks any sort of drama or story development, Steele content with an utterly pleasant depiction of the friendly characters getting on socially and sexually.

Key scenes are shot at a night club, filled with extras as Monica's audience, and surprisingly everyone gets a screen credit. Several leading Euro porn stars of the era pop in the cast, including Sophie Evans, Toni Ribas and Layla Jade as Monica's assistant and gal pal. Despite her suggestive "Mayhem" stage name, Monica is strictly glamorous and quietly alluring here, adding to the movie's rather mysterious appeal.
