I remember seeing this Christian movie about Rick Irons, a surfer who became a Christian, and what surprised me in a pleasant way as the appearance of Maureen McCormick as Alma Irons, the wife of Rick. I don't know if Maureen in real life was a Christian when she starred in Shout for Joy, but I realized that not all Christian movies have Christians starring in it, but anyway, it turned out in real life after the movie was made, Maureen married Michael Cummings, who also starred in Shout for Joy. Interestingly, at the end of the movie, Maureen's character, Alma didn't exactly specifically profess her Christian faith, and this led the audience (I saw this in a cinema) to knowingly chuckle.

What a sweet movie!! You need to see this. I am surprised I never heard about it before. Made before I owned a video player, It's a timeless about a surfer who decides to move to Hawaii. Normally skeptical, I give this 10 stars.
Lead actor Michael Cummings did a great job as the positive example in the surfer's life. The central character's surfer role was very convincing, including significant narration.
Michael Cummings later married the supporting actress, Maureen McCormick (best known as Brady Bunch's Marcia Brady). Now I see why! She really "stretches" in this movie.
I'm tempted to share the great parts of the story, because it seemed so real, but I'd spoil it. I'd be surprised if it wasn't based on a true story.
