Stormy is hot as usual
lor_13 January 2018
I enjoyed this Brad Armstong film, even though it was closer to his forgettable all-sex features for Wicked Pictures than to his narrative, story films.

Saving grace is the beautiful Stormy Daniels, back briefly in the tabloid headlines coincidentally as I was watching this video, because her dalliance with Donald Trump a couple of years after "Ring" was shot had been popularized by a Wall Street Journal story.

She narrates the non-story with much voice-over (very well delivered with her fine voice connecting with the viewer in the absence of any characterizations), concerning a weekly get-togther at a night club by a dozen or so well-to-do women. Stormy is the ring-leader, pun intended, arranging for games and entertainment for her group of beautiful ladies. Guys are strictly sex-objects here, recruited by Stormy from hundreds of eager applicants (and the video ends with her fake plea for studly male viewers to send in their credentials to be chosen, phony but not unlike those searches for amateur talent (of the female kind, however) that end a Rodney Moore or Omar Williams pro-am movie.

So Brad merely uses this premise in order to string together a series of seven sex scenes involving the women of the Velvet Ring, pretty much wall-to-wall sex content. Various extras go uncredited, including a couple of persistent guys intent on crashing the party, whose drag scene (only women are admitted) is relegated to the position of bloopers during the end credits.

Vividly (see how I not so subtly name drop Wicked's chief competitor during its heyday) demonstrating the shortcomings of Armstrong's approach is the fact that the most entertaining and expressive content on the DVD is ebullient Michelle Lay telling great anecdotes in her interviews in the Bonus section. The main feature is just sex plus Stormy's engaging voice.

Extreme sloppiness in the credits department occurs with a scene of Lay and lovely Dani Woodward getting massages from Steven St. Croix and Trevor Zen in a foursome scene. Brad idiotically calls the 2 masseurs "masseuses" in the BTS segment, and even though Lay later talks about her friend Karen in the salon and Stormy calls the girl Karen, in the end credits it is Lay who is identified erroneously as "Karen", not Dani.

Other scenes include Brad filling in for an absent stud (the actor cast didn't have a proper HIV test cerificate in order to appear) in a role-playing vignette in which he is cheating on his wife Michelle Lay with Lezley Zen, ending after his money shot with a catfight when Michelle arrives and starts pummeling Lezley.

A white-out scene starring Gianna (she didn't look like busty Gianna Michaels, but that's the credit in IMDb) fantasing Glory Hole action is pretty dumb, sort of a blow-bang with holes cut for disembodied cocks sticking out through white curtains.

Stormy gets plenty of action, first as a dominatrix showing Alexis Amore the ropes with slave Tommy Gunn (who reveals what his very first porn film was in the BTS), and at the conclusion starring in a sort of stand-alone, XXX music video style vignette humping Cheyne Collins on the hood of a cherry '40s/'50s collector's car.
