And it wasn't disappointing. All the storylines stick. Annie going away for the weekend in a dreamy seaside setting, leaving Eric to take care of the kids. And their respective relationships issues. I liked the Shana character, but I was fine with her leaving the show. She'd just ran her course. And Lucy's boys trouble was fun to watch, for once. Hattie was a great character, it's a shame she was only passing by. The ending was a bit rushed, but a nice conclusion to the episode. It's nothing special, but a way to shake things up from the usual narrative.

All by Myself

This episode trots out the rather tired 'Mr Mom' theory that men fall apart completely when trying to run a household with kids, but on the whole it's played quite well.
The Matt/Shauna and Annie storylines were the best here.
