Tiddles has gone missing, Mrs Slocombe is in a real panic, she turns her affections towards an unsuspecting Mr Humphries.
Series nine really isn't a high point for the show, but there are glimmers. This one rates as one of the more average episodes, they recycle the plot of Mrs Slocombe falling for Mr Humphries, it didn't really work last time, nor does it work here.
Miss Belfridge looks amazing, but in all honesty adds little else, fortunately she'd have slightly more to do in the next series.
It once again falls on Sugden and Inman to dig this episode out of a pit, they both get some decent lines.
Captain Peacock is so inconsistent throughout this ninth series, earlier on he's monstrous, and here he's like Grandpa Cuddles, it is such a mixed bag.
Interesting that no Christmas special followed.
Middling, 5/10.
