"Blizzard" is a snowbound entry, with Lou Cutell (first of two) as a global warming alarmist predicting doom and gloom at the polar ice caps. Wojo brings in a panhandler (Lewis Charles, first of two) who dies in the middle of the arrest report. Since the coroner is snowed in, Nick suggests they put the corpse on the couch in Barney's office (Barney: "I gotta work in there!" Yemana: "I don't think he'll bother ya!"). Alex Henteloff makes his third appearance as slimeball defense lawyer Arnold Ripner, who arrives too late with the dead man's bail ticket (Ripner: "why didn't you tell me he was dead?" Yemana: "it didn't come up!" Barney: "I take it you've seen your client?" Ripner: "what kind of questions were you asking him, for God's sake?"). Ripner's greatest mistake is asking Dietrich how much he knows ("how much time you got?"). Another thief (Tom Henschel, first of two) is brought in, who learns how Wojo drove his previous arrest to his death ("I'm only 22, so I made a mistake!"). Dietrich closes things out by discussing the Japanese response to death, "a serene resignation, a tranquil acceptance of that which is inevitable." (Yemana: "personally, I'm goin' kickin' and scratchin' all the way!" Wojo: "why don't you tell him that?" Yemana: "I like my image!").
