And this is the season opener? This underwater drama? You feel just a whole lot of apathy for the characters. Maybe the beast should have gobbled up Mitch Buchanan before he could go on to make a further fool of himself. BAYWATCH is bad enough, but there you have sun, surf and bikinis. Here you have aging Mr Hasselhoff, a young whippersnapper, and Ms Harmon doing her best, but really! root for the monster, people! Let him relieve them of their misery! Hell of a lot of wet work for a result that's like a bowl of cold fish on a winter's day.
Brightest point of the story: Tai Collins as Julie the lifeguard right at the beginning. She seemed to be excellent crew member material. The episode would have benefited from a bit more Tai than Taiwanese or Malay or New Guinea or whatever boat people. That screaming woman was the worst! She sure got the better out of the deal for the $5* they paid her! :) It all goes downhill from there, not for a lack of trying by Angie.
