Budgie goes out for an errand for Hazel. He ends up getting tangled up with his old Irish friend Grogan.
The latter is doing a bit of van stealing and Budgie wants to join in to make a quick buck.
Detective Inspector Bryant who put Budgie away at the end of the last series returns to investigate a series of van thefts by the jump up boys. A practice where a delivery driver leaves his van for a few minutes and someone nicks it in the meantime.
Bryant suspects Charlie Endell might be behind it. Dozy Detective Constable Leadbetter has to keep tabs on Charlie by hanging around in his sex shop.
There are returning faces from the first series. However this is a tedious and an all too silly story. Bryant goes undercover, gets drunk with Budgie in a pub and tries to recall where he knows Budgie from before.
