The Jaguars 'gang' have some nice cars. Positive.
Stunt car crashes which would result in certain death for some if real are just bumps and bruises at best.
Racist language and racist comedy that would not be tolerated on today's television. On CHiPs. What was that about?
Better yet, it's semetic (implied) Officer Grossman telling Slappy White jokes. Little Harlan enjoys it a little too much while the rest of the audience is ready to tear that Grossy a new one. Ponch & Jon and even Worf come to his defense to save that fat rear from a severe beating.
Young guy from the Warriors(1979) is in this as a Jaguars 'gang' member. I remember him from 3-2-1 Contact. He musta done more than the two episodes IMDB lists as he was in the Bloodhound gang. He seemed to be stereotyped as someone who joins gangs although the Bloodhound gang was into solving capers ala Encyclopedia Brown. Unfortunately, he was not long for this earth.
As for the CHiPs gang solving racism and Tiger King type fare, Ponch tries to ingratiate himself with the Jaguars by using a couple Spanish words which automatically indicates Ponch is street and one of them. Poor lily white Jon can't get over with the kids so he tries to get help from the local's mentor who runs the garage where the young people hang and work on their fine looking automobiles.
Farfetched loose tiger in the hills scenarios abound. We'll call her the animal control officer in LA gets harrassed by Ponch to no one's chagrin. She'll have quite a lawsuit against the county if she decides to pursue litigation against the rampant sexism at the workplace. Instead she goes out on a friendly date with the crew to enjoy Grossman's racist tirade comedy routine.
I wrote this review just to bring attention to the evils this episode spews as comic relief. Shame on the late Cy Chermak. Check it out.
