There are a lot of things one can complain about in "Chorus Line Angels": Kris does not get to sing or dance at all in a musical episode (unlike season 2's "Angels On The Wings"); Mark Slade gives an awful performance as a slow-witted janitor; the bad guy's plan is not very well thought out, to say the least; and the repetition at the end (you'll know what I mean) is too much. However, the episode is worth seeing if only for 3 big, splashy production numbers which are quite lavish and impressive for a TV show. Also, the guest female cast is very pleasing on the eyes, and the bad guy's Halloween mask is quite creepy. This episode marks the only time David Doyle (Bosley) stepped up behind the camera to direct; it must have occupied him a lot, because he doesn't appear in front of it as much as usual. **1/2 out of 4.

"2nd worst" episode of the series

"Chorus Line Angels" is so bad, it's funny. The long drown out dance numbers are comical and Jaclyn Smith looks uncomfortable and embarrassed performing them. The episode was directed by David Doyle (Bosley) and is almost as bad as the ATROCIOUS "Marathon Angels" from the 1978-79 season.
One of the WORST episodes!

Warning: Spoilers
I preface this review by saying I am a HUGE fan of the so-bad-it's-good genre and this series in general but this episode was just plain awful.
First of all ~ as I have seen 'A Chorus Line' more times than I can count (both the film and on Broadway), I found myself already knowing the dance routines before each step as they were THAT predictable and clearly ripped-off shamelessly from 'A Chorus Line'. Yet there is no credit given to anyone involved with ACL and I was shocked to find no mention of a lawsuit in the trivia section here. Yes, that bad.
Second ~ and even MORE blatant and lawsuit-worthy ~ the plot/motive is essentially the same plot of the film/play 'The Producers'! The villain is found to have sold 100% shares to at least 6 investors and so he systematically 'removes' the show's better dancers in order to ensure the show is a flop. Sound familiar?
And, as another reviewer alluded to, there was absolutely NO need for the reprise of the final number unless they WANTED to remind the viewers: "No, you didn't imagine it; it WAS that embarrassingly terrible!"
Not worth the hour to make fun of it. If you've seen 'A Chorus Line' and/or 'The Producers', this lazy double rip-off will only piss you off.

A little slice of fun. As disappearances shroud a show preparing for a Vegas audition, Kelly joins the line. She's just as good as she needs to be, and the production numbers are charming enough to make you forget a few plot holes and uninspired moments. Why does the cast look like they're having more fun than any time since Hawaii? Perhaps it's the director...Mr. David Doyle, the only cast member to ever helm an episode. This one also qualifies as the second-most surreal episode ever (after that Bill Bixby LSD trip in season 1, of course). Why? Because they finish the big finale, then for no apparent reason...do it again! After a minute of questioning your sanity, you'll figure out that they probably came up a few minutes short in the editing room. Wild.
Not a good show

In the same way that Darian Michael was trying to sabotage the e guy was trying to ruin the upcoming Vegas show, I think the writers and producers of Charlie's Angels were trying to sabotage Charlies's Angels when they created this awful episode. The long drawn out dance numbers in this episode were terrible. I can't believe they did the last dance number twice at the end of the episode. Someone really wanted this show to end!
Oh, deary me.

I shan't repeat the totally correct comments already posted here. An embarrassingly weak episode. Directed, sadly, by Bosley himself. Those extended dance numbers. Cringe. Showing the last one not once, but TWICE!!! What were they thinking? As for the intrigue, well it's hard to get interested. A fifty minute episode which really drags on.
