The change! The change!

Warning: Spoilers
Julia heads to the hospital for a hysterectomy and begins to question where this will lead her life as an aging woman. Yes, indeed it is a change, and the sentimentality of the episode is touching if that's what you are expecting it in this season seven episode. It's closer to a soap opera Santa sitcom, and there are more episodes like this as the series neared its ending the following season. Gary Morris guest stars as Julia's doctor who makes a last-minute decision about the surgery the doctor/patient relationship that he's established. It's nice to see Julia having a sweet conversation with a man that she's just met, and she's not out to terminate him or even judge him for being a divorced man. Adam Carl returns for his third eposide, having once played a clerk and another time (here repeating that part) as Adam, the temp who worked while Charlene was out on maternity leave. He's still just as dumb, ridiculously so. The rest of the crew including Bernice are locked in an elevator, and there's a very amusing conclusion when they are freed. It's nice to see Dixie Carter play a more light-hearted version of Julia than normal, far more believability than she's been allowed to be in a while.
