Anthony's "situation" is finally "fixed"
professor_of_gamez11 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
In the state of Georgia, a convicted felon can NOT be a lawyer. So I am glad it finally appears, here, that his conviction (that led to his "unfortunate incarceration", as he famously and repeatedly mentions) is mentioned as having been overturned.

The overturning of his conviction COULD have made a good episode. Wonder why they didn't make such an episode. With so many of the episodes being one character's rant after another, that would have made a welcome change.

I guess they had to finally mention it, or otherwise viewers might wonder how a convicted felon was able to become a lawyer in Georgia.

The politics of racial issues gets a termination.

Warning: Spoilers
If calling the NAACP and the Better Business Bureau doesn't work in a situation like this, call Julia sugarbaker. That's what happens when Anthony is accused of staking out a jewelry store while waiting for Bernice in the mall. Anthony doesn't want to pursue the matter, but Julia does, having been fired up by alleged social injustice. The audience doesn't see what happens so you can only guess what actually happened, that until you get an overly written obnoxious security manager who is written as way too over zealous, and Julia goes way overboard in her social justice stance which Bernricce, Carlene and Mary Joe's soon join in. It's another example of how the show would preach at the audience and what would ultimately lower the hit show's ratings. To the show's. Benefit, it does indicate how Julia's actions make the situation worse for Anthony when his past has revealed on local TV. Good intentions don't always make entertaining television, and you don't always create change through a ranting lecture. It's obvious that at the end of the show, Julia hasn't learned a complete lesson, indicating how her extreme liberalism has often taken over her intelligence. It's a testimony to Messhach Taylor's talent that his explanation of his feelings on the issue doesn't become cloying and actually wins him sympathy.
