Probably the greatest episode of the season. If there's one thing I can fault this episode for it's definitely the odd pacing issue of skipping the entire part where chris goes to his local school. But the monologue chris gives after reuniting with greg is a weirdly introspective moment for a sitcom but also makes it my favorite moment in the entire show. Chris knows that it's not just the fact that he's the only black kid at a white school for why everybody hates him. So it takes him a while to finally grow up and learn something: there isn't such thing as a paradise or utopia he can run away to. It's better to stay where he is and try to change things than look for an escape. The kids at his school are still making his life a living nightmare. But he is somehow safer with his one and only friend than anywhere closer to bedford-stuyvesant.
