Dedicated to the One I Love (#2.9)

And this is supposed to be another love episode.

I actually liked the nerdy girl that fell in love with Urkel. Here they actually made her seem very much like Steve! Too bad he just hooked her up with someone and went for Laura. This is like one of those ban influences of the pop culture on how kids see love.

The story of Carl being hit on by the new neighbour was a bit stupid. Kind of unrealistic and cliché-full. I also didn't like Harriet's acting much. But it had its funny moments. Especially when music plays out of Carl's pants. Here I even actually liked Harriet as well, nice moment.

This was an early example of Laura contradicting herself. She introduces Steve to Susie, and you can see sparks of jealousy almost immediately. Laura tells her aunt: "I really don't expect it to work." Then, why bother? Maybe, she really didn't want it to work. This was Susie's only appearance in the series. In a way, she was more believable than Myra, as a girl who would like Steve. Laura admits to Steve that she was jealous, but claims it was "only for a second." That was a long second. I've said this in other reviews and I'll say it again. I love watching Steve and Laura together. They really liked each other. In real life, not many couples have even that much.

The whole thing with Steve trying to hook Susie up didn't really feel authentic to me, but it was fun seeing him have his own girl for once, as little time as it did last.
