Excellent episode for so many reasons.

Frasier's second season is my personal favourite of the show's impressive body of work, with this particular gem perhaps my all-time favourite episode. It is incisive and witty, handling homosexuality and dating with tact and taste, never becoming crass or re-enforcing stereotypes.

The punchlines range from highly amusing to downright hysterical, with some being so good I actually have to pause the episode because I'm laughing so hard I cannot hear the next lines. Kelsey Grammar plays his role with complete candour and is complimented with incredible style by Eric Lutes, on fine form as Frasier's new boss at the station.

This is situation comedy at it's finest; rarely do I see anything that matches it, never do I see it bettered. In one episode Frasier (the show) does a better job of dealing with sexual preference than the entire run of Will & Grace. Joe Keenan wrote many episodes for Frasier, all very good, but he really excels himself here. Outstanding work, and one of the few times I've awarded a perfect score. It is thoroughly deserved.

This is the funniest episode of any show ever written. I have never laughed this hard in my life. Simply a masterpiece and a perfect example of why this is the best show

Subtle and Well Done

With a raft of double entendres, this little French farce involves the search for a man for Daphne. Frasier meets the new office manager, very handsome fellow, and tries to hook him up with Daphne. However, there is a misunderstanding; that being the guy is gay and he thinks Frasier is coming on to him. This is handled wonderfully without a bunch of over the top comments. Nicely done.

An All Time Favorite!

Next to the episodes with Jean Smart which was hilarious and won an Emmy, this is my favorite. Eric Lutes is an absolute gem and the whole episode is just hilarious, you could watch it over and over again.

Should have kicked off the season.

I'm not sure what the thought was behind opening the second season with 'Slow Tango in South Seattle'...While not bad, I thought it made for a rather weak first episode. 'The Matchmaker', on the other hand, would have been a great choice, as it centers around Frasier's new boss, and is definitely one of the funniest episodes of the entire series!

Frasier back on form

Warning: Spoilers
After a particularly slow start to series 2 with some largely forgettable episodes, 'Frasier' bounces back with this great episode, that highlights just how good a show it can be.

The show was great at these farcical elements, and every one of the actors seems to be having a great time here. It's not all on Kelsey Grammar's head, with Jane Leeves in particular I felt here being allowed to shine.

From word play to lovely physical comedy this is not just one of the best episodes of the series, but from across the 11 years in general.

A great episode.

Hilarious Misunderstandings!

This is one of about 5 favourite episodes of Frasier that I never get sick of watching. All these favourite episodes of Frasier all have something to do with mistaken identities and miss communications and this is one of them. Just magnificent with an hilarious script!

A strong representation of a gay character, esp. for 1994

This is one of the funniest episode of the show's first few years. Best of all none of the jokes are at Tom's expense. Indeed, Tom is a striking in how little of a gay stereotype he actually is. He isn't (all that) fey nor ultrabutch. The show's treatment of gay characters-Gil for example is mishandled- is a very mixed bag but this episode contains a really well written guest character.

Masterclass in writing

One the best ever Frasier episodes.brilliantly acted. Top writing.beautifully paced.this came early on in this amazing show and really set the stall out of how good this show could be. After a simple mix up Frasier ends up on a date with a man but dosent realise it. They are hard laughs to be had.but at the core of this its really quite sweet. David hyde pierce nearly steals the show here.his deadpan dropping of lines is second to none only matched by grammers beautiful acting switching from camp to panic stricken with just a roll of the eyes.if u have nva watched frasier before try this one...
