Stan, I'm going to kill you!

Warning: Spoilers
Those are the often repeated lines in this episode where Stan, recovering from heart surgery, stays at the house and drives everybody crazy. He infiltrates on their lives at every chance he gets, and Dorothy soon realizes that he is taking advantage of the situation. This episode shows the good hearts of the women, even towards an ex spouse who constantly cheated on Dorothy and would pop in and out of her life up to the final episode. Everybody gets the chance to have nice little moments, but the episode belongs to both Bea Arthur and Herb Edelman who allows Stan to show some vulnerability even if his phony tears are truly annoying. The Stan episodes usually are not among my favorites, but this is probably his best.

The Stan Who Came to Dinner (#2.13)

Warning: Spoilers
Stan comes to tell Dorothy that he has a heart surgery to go through. Her and Sophia offer him to stay at their place for recovery, but after the surgery the doctor says it will take him three months to recover. And in that time Stan gets too comfortable there, Dorothy has to talk to him to get him out.

The episode had some funny Rose stories such as the one about the plate or her thoughts on not needing the house after reuniting with her husband after death.

I like the relationship Dorothy and Stan have. The writers made it complex, they have their tensions but the fact that they have been together for 38 years before break up still is a factor.

Sometimes people need help making decisions....

Dorothy is set to to on a double date with Blanche, Bob and Rob, but Stan turns up and drops a bombshell, his health has taken a downward turn, and he needs a place to recuperate after an operation.

It's perhaps not a classic, but it definitely has some funny moments, the sequences with The Twins were great, and the way that Stan turns everyone lives upside down is very funny, poor Stan, he just never seemed able to get it right. Rose's story about Thor was hilarious.

Stan once again turns up, and throws Dorothy's life into disarray, he ruined a date for her not so long ago, and did the same again here.

Fair play, Rose is wearing some of the most hideous jumpers that I have ever seen. The Girls really do love a slice of cheesecake.

Pretty funny.

7/10.
