They used a scene from another episode!
tennym6 March 2020
This episode is interesting, with enough twists and turns to keep you entertained. What makes it stand out for me is that the intro scene where Mr. and Mrs. Hart are riding their bikes is an edited version of a previously shot and aired scene from "This Lady Is Murder" Season 2, Episode 3.

It's not merely the action that's repeated, but they included the dialogue as well. Jonathan says he likes to ride behind Jennifer, she asks if that's a compliment, and he replies "you can be sure of it". Then he says he could really go for Max's huevos rancheros, with Jennifer responding that the vegetation is beginning to look edible. They cut out when he suggests they get an ice cream, but left in his saying they'll race, with the loser treating (which makes little sense without the ice cream part). Jennifer then asks he give her a 30 second head start, which in "This Lady Is Murder" facilitated the plot point of her getting kidnapped.

I've never seen a show do this before, so this makes this episode rather unique in my view! It's a little disappointing that the show was too lazy to shoot a new intro, but my guess is it happened late in the editing process and they realised the episode was short on time. Rather than shoot new exteriors they shot a new interior intro and matched the clothes to their existing footage.

Harts and Fraud
coltras3516 September 2023
Jennifer appears to be at fault in a minor accident, but it was actually staged by the victim attempting insurance fraud, however when the victim dies due to complications. Jennifer and Jonathan are are sued by the grieving widow. But they suspect that it's a scam but have to prove it and the clues is at the doctor's office.

The scheme is rather farfetched, yet its inventive enough and fits Hart to Hart as many of its plot ideas were stretched with farfetched ideas. It's a good dose of escapism and this episode delivers that. The finale is urgently done with Max ready to get plunged by poison. The fight scene is quite energetically done.

Interesting Episode, A Must Watch!
laurenny-925-3160192 January 2017
This episode starts with Jonathan, & Jennifer, on a fun bike ride that leads to a race home, & the two bursting into the kitchen where Max is preparing breakfast. Jennifer is shopping & unaware of a man watching her. She gets in the Rolls, not noticing the driver behind her is the man who watched her. He pulls up next to her at a stop light & when said light turns green he drives ahead, then pulls directly in front of the Rolls, & stops. Jennifer hits his car. The man goes to a hospital where he dies, & Jennifer is sued for 2 million. There are other characters in the episode that conduct illegal acts, & involve innocent characters without immediate awareness. Jennifer has strong feelings over the accident & death. Jonathan does some investigating that leads to information he shares with Jennifer. Max gets personally involved, & unbeknownst to him puts himself in the path of being the next to die. All the elements that make the show great are here, along with a personal connection. I strongly disagree with 1 other review & feel it's opinion is more related to legal issues & highly strays from an actual episode review.

Givitn Tort Law a Bad Name. Hrmph.
HilaryElizabeth913 April 2009
One bad apple gives tort law a bad name here in this last episode of Season 3 when the Rolls rear ends a guy whose sole purpose was to get rear ended in the first place. As the guy plays it up big time for the insurance claim, the puppetmaster behind it all (veteran character actor Lawrence Pressman) offs the guy. Special appearance made by an original Pac Man video game. Extra Special appearance by a business card with oodles of interesting personal info on Jonathan Hart. Like that he lives at 3100 Willow Pond Drie, Los Angeles, Ca. 90099. (213) 657-1657 and (213) 654-1654. If you dial those, lemme know how it goes. Best dialogue of the episode --> Jonathan: "The Lieutenant also made it very clear that he didn't want us to be involved in police work. He said if there's something going on that we --" Jennifer: "I know. We should leave it up to the police." Jonathan: "Right." Most interesting, however, is that we appear to have learned Max's last name. The show gets itself into a pickle when they have Max sign for some documents, only to refer to that signature as a plot point later; and that name appears to me to be "Berman." Anyway, Jennifer spends the episode wallowing in guilt. When the Hart's figure out the scam, they send Max in undercover. Of course, while there, he almost gets killed, Harts to the rescue. Not that exciting an episode for the last one of the season.
