Howard Duff and Beverly Garland star in this installment of "The Star and the Story" and it's available for free download at archive.org.
The show begins with a detective (Duff) going to see his sick wife at the hospital. She (Garland) has some undisclosed illness and she puts all her faith in her doctor to get her better. However, the doc soon approaches the husband and confesses to having just murdered someone!! The detective and his wife, however, don't want the guy arrested--he's very decent and he is the best guy in his field. So what's next?
The acting in this one is nice and the story quite nice as well. The only negative is that you know that the nice-guy detective must do his job and the doctor is intent on paying for his crime...so there really isn't a lot of mystery to this one, even though the script tries vainly to create some.
