Alexis Smith is the hostess,introducing the story from a W. Somerset Maugham story with Robin Hughes as her suspected lover and George Macready as her indifferent husband.The husband,working for a rubber plantation in Malaya,is promoted,and the wife's plan of getting back to England along with her lover is thwarted as the husband expects her to remain.She sees Tom,the other man,off at the dock,and any intense love scene is interrupted by the husband,forcing her to stay until the ship sails.He rather taunts her,having overheard their good-byes while hidden from view.Had never heard of the series,but was pleasantly surprised to find this online.Macready is his usual snake-like character,but I really like this actor.Alexis Smith quite good,as is Hughes.Hope to find other episodes.
