The seven-year itch.

Matthew tries his hand at playing Cupid, arranging for his mother Sue to pay a visit, the scene is set, the romantic music is playing, only neither is happy to see the other.

A fine end to this cracking first series, it was a nice surprise to see John Thaw's real life wife Sheila Hancock playing Sue, definitely a degree of chemistry is evident.

There's a funny, bittersweet feel to this one, you can really appreciate Henry's bitterness and anger.

Sue isn't the most pleasant of people, you can see why the pair didn't work together.

Favourite scene had to be Sue encountering Mrs Thompson, her jealousy was amusing.

It's been a very enjoyable first series, and this is a strong conclusion, it gives you a real sense of how the pair ended up in this situation.

8/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Even though Henry went through a bitter divorce.

Matthew schemes to bring back his parents back together by rekindling old memories.

While Henry goes out for his regular friday night drinks with his geriatric friends.

Matthew has invited his mother Sue (Sheila Hancock) in some pretext that Henry is away for the weekend. Sue immediately starts to take possessions that she left behind.

With John Thaw's real life wife Hancock playing Sue. It was inevitable that during all the bickering, they might find some lost love. After all Thaw and Hancock divorced in real life and then got back together again.

However any romantic reunion is always bound to be brief. This is a series of a divorced dad being hooked up with his teenage son after so many years.

The final episode of the first series. It just continues the uneven tone of this sitcom. So far it lacks humour with actors desperately trying to make the material funny.
