Warning: Spoilers
The Adena Watson murder has been one of the main arcs throughout the whole series, sometimes to the point of being overdone (Finnegan's Wake in season 6). Still, this fine episode deftly handles the aftermath of that case on detective Bayliss (Kyle Secor).

A girl is found dead; Bayliss suspects a connection with the Watson killing and clashes with the primary, his partner Pembleton (Andre Braugher). And when Pembleton gets a suspect in the box (Chris Tucker as a glassy-eyed, moronic creep), Bayliss' emotional baggage gets the better of him.

A compelling, uncompromising Homicide episode. You don't see other cop shows ending with a detective tossing the portrait of a victim into the garbage bin.
