Quotes
-
Rene Lebeau : That's my land and I'm going to hold onto it. And you print that same advertisement, Mr. Tate. And you put a line under the part that says man. There must be one somewhere in Wyoming.
Marshal Dan Troop : I heared Josh Teller offered you a fair price for that place, Rene. Maybe your mother would be happier in town.
Rene Lebeau : I was born on that land, Marshal. I love it. My roots go real deep and nothin's going to change that.
-
Fane - Storekeeper : Hmph. Savages, that's what they are.
Marshal Dan Troop : Are they? You didn't think so when her father was alive.
Fane - Storekeeper : Well, he kept them in line. And that's what they need, somebody to keep them in line. Uh, what can I do for you, Marshal?
Marshal Dan Troop : [disgusted] Not a thing.
[Troop starts to close the door, then reopens it]
Marshal Dan Troop : Better keep this open. Air's bad in here.
-
Rene Lebeau : It isn't easy to live in two worlds. And she follows the Indian way.
Marshal Dan Troop : There are worse things than being honest.
Rene Lebeau : Should I be honest? Would you like that?
Marshal Dan Troop : No.
Rene Lebeau : And my Indian blood has nothing to do with it, of course.
-
Marshal Dan Troop : Just so there's no doubt, you're all woman Rene. And the man that gets you will be lucky.
Rene Lebeau : But you don't turn love on and off like water from a pump.
Marshal Dan Troop : I came along when you needed me. You're young. There'll be someone else.
-
[last lines]
Marshal Dan Troop : I, uh, I wouldn't plan on leaving town.
Stan Bates : I'll drop by and see you as soon as I can ride.
Marshal Dan Troop : No hurry. Take all the time you want. In the meantime, I'd listen to Miss Lebeau. She's got all kinds of... interesting ideas.
[turning to Rene]
Marshal Dan Troop : Remember that lucky man we were talking about? How lucky can ya get? He's still alive.
