Is That Mr. Ed?
hogwrassler24 February 2021
An old timer named Jules runs a stable in town and owns a magnificent palomino called Apache (Apache looks just like Mr. Ed). Crooked gambler Pete Stacy robs honest Bill Clark of the cash he wa carrying to buy a ranch so that he could marry the Sheriff's daughter. Stacy manages to frame Jules by buying Apache for $1,000 cash and then secretly returning the horse to the stable and claiming no sale was made. So, Jules has all this cash right after Bill was robbed of his cash. But none of the serial numbers on Jules' bills match those that were taken from Bill. That clears Jules. The Ranger and Tonto know that Jules is really a famous gambler who has given up the trade. The Ranger plans to force Stacy to bring the stolen bills out of hiding by having Jules engage in a high stakes poker game with the crook. But can it possibly work? This is an unusual episode because it features poker playing. Gambling halls were often mentioned in episodes, but showing actual gambling on cards is a rare event in The Lone Ranger TV series.
