Arrr, it's on parrr with other season 2 episodes
jamesrupert20142 February 2023
Captain Tucker (Albert Salmi) the space pirate, is back, this time abandoned by his mutinous crew while searching for the treasure of Beelibones, a Betelgeusian bandit, the key to which was conveniently just discovered by Dr. Smith. Arrr, I be tellin' ya, the pirate theme is pretty over-the-top but Salmi seems to be having fun as the sneaky Stevens-onian reprobate whom Will has befriended. As usual, the plot doesn't make a lot of sense, the props and costumes cheap and ridiculous looking (the horned furry is back), and the story is mostly played for laughs, but the 'reveal' of the treasure is a fun twist. OK season 2 episode but continues the trend for formulaic stories and camp characters. Like many LiS episodes, if judged within the series (or through the rose-coloured glasses of nostalgia), it's silly but entertaining; if judged without, it's juvenile and insipid.

The charismatic cheater Captain Tucker is back hunting buried treasure!!
elo-equipamentos4 June 2023
The funny actor Albert Salmi as regular guest star of countless shows is back bringing cross body three weird sidekicks together to hunt another buried treasure in the desert planet where Jupiter 2's crew are stranded, everything starting when Penny found a ancient coin a aftermaths a underneath chamber where the brave Smith dropped mistakenly, there Smith found a box and inside another small box until appears a smallest box that contains a golden Iron Skull saying "Good Evening", the outrageous Smith exposes his natural harshness in face so lousy and worthless thing, meanwhile they found Captain Tucker tied up in the outskirts, speaking louder about their cheaters space-mates.

Asking for Will what's he going there, which the rascal Captain Tucker speaking in a popular jargon all about a treasure buried there, back in Jupiter 2's campfire Dr. Robinson wants to known why he had hired those crook guys (some are something a kind of alien-monsters) Tucker replays saying that in matter of shortest time and fussy he didn't had any choice at all, Dr. Robinson also asking what's Tucker will gonna do and the poker face says that want sleeping entering at Smith's cabin and taking up the whole bed, what funny scene, meanwhile the unlucky Smith is followed by the Box's Skull whenever he stays.

To shorten the plot at last Smith is trapped in the ground to faces the speaking skull where the treasure was buried, aided by Will they find the so expected treasure, however it wasn't what they exactly waited, thus the captain Tucker swears to Dr. Robinson and the nipper Will that it isn't happen again, also walking on straight line henceforth for good, and suggest to them a possible new meeting again.

Albert Salmi is terrific as Captain Tucker a sort of charismatic scoundrel, not very smart as well, nonetheless an enchanting character to oppose Dr. Smith, also the Robot has amusing performance as faltering behavior, often asking for a re-starting process for himself, valuable and funniest episode!!

Thanks for reading.

The Return of Captain Tucker
bigfrankie-434649 December 2022
Treasure of the Lost Plant is an average Season Two episode that brings the return of Captain Tucker from Season One.

Dr. Smith, Will, Penny and The Robot are playing a game when Penny discovers a gold coin. This leads to greedy Dr. Smith discovering a box with a mysterious head.

Captain Tucker, followed by his crew, show up and the hunt for a treasure is on. There are some ties to the Season One episode which has an appeal.

This is basically a Dr. Smith, Will and The Robot story, with some Prof Robinson mixed in.

Just about everything about this episode make it below average, except the return of actor Albert Salmi as Captain Tucker elevate this to a solid "average".

We have some cowardly behavior from Dr. Smith, but no over the top buffoonery. Any comedy is so-so and it just plods along. The music was re-hashed from "The Cave of The Wizards". It was mediocre then and even worse here since it doesn't fit.

"(They) Ain't Much."

Another tough crowd weighed in on this one, little appreciative of the atmospheric qualities, humor & harpsichord flavored musical accompaniment - & the very thought provoking twist about what constitutes "treasure" in the precincts of Betelgeuse. And Albert Salmi, M. H. R. I P. Had so completely inhabited the part in the 1st outing, it was great that Captain A. P. Tucker revisited the Robinsons - with a crew of scalawags that an entire sidewalk of people would cross the street to avoid. Well "whatever be the case" as Tucker might put it, with the popcorn throwing boobirds who pinched their hard to please noses at both outings, the 2 adventures of Cap'n Tucker have long been among my favorite LIS episodes. "Pump (yer) bilges" to that!
