"Stanley the Great"
JordanThomasHall8 December 2016
The bus company Stanley (Dom DeLuise) and his friend Bummy (Jack Knight) work for are having their annual talent show. The 1st prize is a week for two at Perlman's Poinsettia Palms in Miami. Stanley and Bummy begin rehearsing their Vaudeville-inspired comedy/musical duo of Belmont and Pfitzer. The attractive company emergency road dispatcher and Dolly Parton lookalike Reenee Muldoon (Louisa Moritz, "Rose" from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest') wishes to see her aunt in Florida, leaving the men in the company to eye her as the second person to take. This splits up Stan and Bummy's act, leading to an argument. At home, he tries a stand-up comedy routine on his family, insulting them all Don Rickles-style. Stanley talks Reenee into being his assistant in a magic act at the talent show. Stanley's magic act is essentially Dom DeLuise's "Dominick the Great" stand-up routine. It predictably goes awry. The talent show emcee is Johnny Brown (Nathan Bookman from "Good Times").
