When a burglar breaks into the Bundy home, Al punches him out and becomes an American hero (and like all American heroes, "he's going to hawk more products than Bill Cosby")! But the burglar returns with the deadliest weapon of all - a lawyer! - and he sues Al for assault (and fondling his hiney - thank God he's got two hands). Never fear, though, Kelly Bundy is on the case - the defence breasts and objection stained! Order in the court - I'd like a cheeseburger, thanks. But Al has a lot to say for himself as well - he was acting in the spirit of such great American pioneers as Audie Murphy and Eddie Murphy. This is one of the funniest episodes of the series in a long time (even the audience is more rowdy than usual), and I didn't even mention one of Al's all-time classic lines: "If there is a valid lawsuit here, it should be Bundy vs. the Board of Education, because she actually graduated high school"! Plus Kelly looks amazingly hot in a simple "Ι Am A Bundy" T-shirt. *** out of 4.

Always hilarious "as if Daddy as died" (dvd)

Well, this 7th season follows where 6th has been interrupted as the family has indeed a new kid. Maybe that's explains why the fun is less eccentric and more literal in dialogs. Yet, it allows all the cast to behave like real parents or siblings (more or less) and it's the opportunity to have a bedtime story and the return of Rubio the cruel (7.18). A new trend develops also this year by depicting Jefferson as an effeminate guy. Maybe to explain why he fell in love with a cabin boy girl! At least, the food feud has disappeared and makes place for an intimacy feud: 7.4, 7.5, 7.16, the climax being (7.22) with a session that explodes Peggy's hair!
Actually, it's the kids who provides for crazy episodes, as Kelly when she had to work as a waitress (7.8) or Bud getting an college grant ludicrously spent by his parents (7.11). The show is also beginning to cannibalize famous movies (7.26) or itself as it repeats previous plots: the cabin vacation (7.14), the Christmas episode (7.12). But, as wine gets better with age, it's also true that those folks have fine-tuned their art and they kept getting better each season! Who could have thought that Ed O'Neil was such a funny guy!
The proletarian nature of the show is also good this year: punching a wealthy parent who private a public park with his money (7.3) or telling that voting is useless (7.7).
Yet there's a real stinker this season: (3.10) is too morbid to be funny. I prefer Al and Peggy sitting on the couch the entire episode (3.17) than having them in this coffin.
About the best one, it' more difficult to choose because the fun encompasses a lot of different situations! I pick this one as it's always fun to see Al managing his gay opinion and it offers a good slap on justice!

Un-Alful Entry shows that there's no need for stupid antics on a pirate ship to get laughs - all that is required is a good script. It's a classic court-room episode, Al being sued for slugging a burglar who breaks into the Bundys home, and its one of the funniest of season seven so far.
After firing Kelly as his defending lawyer, Al represents himself in court, and the result is the kind of big laughs that have been so sorely lacking this season.
Judge (checking his watch) to Al: "Mr Bundy, I have a date with a prostitute." Prosecutor to judge: "If you're not touched by that, you're not the man I slept with in law school." Burglar: "My life is a shambles... I'm now afraid to break into people's homes."
The episode ends with Al being found guilty and punching the burglar again; however, Al successfully sues the criminal for hurting his hand on the man's face! Funny, because it's so true.
