More time than usual for Patsy Garrett as Mrs. Fowler, who with the help of her daughter (Eileen Baral) and some unfortunate wind that catches the giant kite Hal and Butch have built, starts thinking Nanny is a witch. All this occurs as Mrs. Fowler is grabbing everyone in the neighborhood to sign a petition to ban a writer of the occult from appearing at the university. When the wind catches Mrs. Fowler as she's holding the kite, and the writer shows up and is normal and charming with a pregnant wife and four children, Mrs. Fowler changes her mind and settles down.
I met Patsy Garrett twice in my life, at reunions of Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians - she sang with them in her younger days. She was a lot of fun and a very good singer. It was good to see her get to stretch her Mrs. Fowler a bit.
