Misunderstanding
JordanThomasHall15 June 2017
Professor Everett (Richard Long) receives a letter from a student of his, Susan Baxter (Elizabeth Baur), that reads, "Please meet me at Alberto's Restaurant at 7:00. I love you, Susan". The professor goes to the restaurant where he meets Susan and is invited to sit down. Unknown to him, Susan wrote the note to Ernie Lewis (Tommy Tune) and it ended up in the professor's hands by mistake. Susan thinks the note is lost and doesn't put together that it came to the professor who she thinks has a crush on her. She begins a crush on the professor. The whole Everett family ends up taking her to a drive-in movie. Now, Hal (David Doremus) has a crush on Susan and asks her for a date. Hal: "I'm very old for my age." As the misplaced love triangle grows to four points, can it be sorted out?

It's a stretch to think the misunderstanding wouldn't have been addressed almost immediately. An aside, the maitre d'is played by Michael Romanoff in his last acting role, months before his death. Romanoff was an affable, slick-talking con man who rode a series of rather innocent lies to land a technical adviser role and advanced himself into bit acting parts. He came to own one of Hollywood's then-most beloved restaurant for the stars- Romanoffs.
