Fed up of the constant gurgling coming from the toilet cistern, Stan attempts to repair it but he ends up breaking the toilet bowl when he drops the spanner in it. Mum insists that if they are to get a new toilet she wants a low level suite so off they go to buy a new pan, however as they are unable to have it delivered, they have to take it home on the bus, much to Blakey's consternation.
Fitting of the pan duly gets underway but things go from bad to worse when they discover that they are unable to close the toilet door as the pan sticks out too far!
Great fun for anyone who loves a good old bit of toilet humour. If memory serves me correctly, this was actually the first episode I ever saw of the classic ITV sitcom at the age of six years old ( when it was repeated by Granada Plus in the mid '90's ). Anna Karen's husband Terry Duggan plays the assistant in the bathroom centre.
Funniest bit - Stan attempting to stop the noise from the toilet by giving the chain a firm tug only for it to come off in his hand!
