A quality and to series one.

Jerry is ecstatic when he learns that has been given a clean bill of health, but it doesn't quite fit with Brian's plans, The Phoenix landed a big talent show, Talent Trek, on the back of Jerry's health issues, reluctantly Jerry goes along with it.

What a tremendous first series it has been, and rightly so it ends with another classic, laugh out loud episode.

The writing has been immaculate, every little strand from the series has played a part, from the hairspray to Karate Kid the musical, skillfully written and performed.

Right said Frank were so funny, I wonder if there is such a group.

That ending, it had an inevitability about it, The Phoenix was always going to go up in flames.

Fortunately it would return for a second series.

9/10.

A memorable finish to series 1

Brian manipulates people's emotions for the benefit of the club.

I remember watching this episode when it was first released over 20 years ago and being flabbergasted by the hilarious audacity of the character Brian Potter in this episode. The humour is pretty dark at times, but it is delivered in such a ridiculous way by the characters that it works brilliantly.

There are several high quality moments that standout in a quite prolific episode. My favourite parts are all the scenes involving Brian and his exploitation of Jerry Dignan for the sake of "Talent Trek". The scenes involving Karate Kid: The Musical and Max's personalised car alarm are great too.

All actors are on great form, especially Peter Kay and David Bramwell.
