When her old law professor and mentor is charged with murder when he confronts a stalker, she throw herself totally into the case--nearly obsessive in her efforts. She is going up against a by-the-book judge who won't let her use any defensive maneuvers. The case rests on the fact that he had a gun, the victim was unarmed, and five shots were fired. Rebekka tries her first case, that of a child who, with another, stole a bicycle. She treats it like the murder trial of the century.
