Robert Culp shines in this nice episode.

The episode opens up with Lucas standing in for Micah as he is away on business. It just so happens that the North Fork Bank gets robbed and Lucas has to shooting the fleeing felon. When Lucas goes over the man's paperwork he finds out that his name is Rudy Gray from a town called Salinas. Lucas telegraphs the town with a description of what occurred.

At the telegraph's office in Salinas the message is intercepted by Dave Foley (Robert Culp)who knows that there is a price on the head of Rudy. Since North Fork has not been made aware of the reward, Dave is going to ride to North Fork and pose as a family member of Rudy. And since the bank robber is not expected to live, it looks like Dave will take the corpus back to Salinas and collect the reward. But he has yet to meet Lucas McCain.

The episode was interesting from beginning till end. But what really made the show stand out was the nice acting by Robert Culp. Culp made his character so believable that it was difficult to dislike the man trying to collect on someone else death. Even though the ending was not to my liking, it still was an interesting story that still holds up well.
