Changes in the Sun may doom Earth to a new ice age, meanwhile a couple of double-dealers, Dr. Reno (Thomas Browne Henry) and manly Olympic champion Rudy DiMarco (Richard Avonde), plan on overthrowing the United Planets with the help of the old-guard on the former enemy-planet Herculon. Far-fetched but fun, this episode introduces Biffen Cardoza (just remember "Biff in d'noza"), who replaces Winky (actor Scotty Beckett was 'doing time' for a number of criminal charges), Professor Mayberry (Reginold Sheffield), who replaces Professor Newton (Maurice Cass having recently passed away), and 'The Silver Moon', who replaces the 'Orbit Jet', the venerable rocket having been crushed by a man-made avalanche in the last adventure ('Blast Off'). Between the villain's plotting, Rocky's boxing match with the studly Rudy (whose masculine charms have not gone unnoticed by Vena), and political events on Herculon, now ruled by the benevolent Juliandra (Ann Robinson, of 1953's 'War of the Worlds' fame), this is a busy episode. Oddly, there is no mention of the possible interstellar alien spaceship in which Rocky returned to Earth at the end of the previous series.
