About Tom's Past
mitchrmp24 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This is Tom's story. We find out here that he had a drinking problem while he was judge. In fact, it was that drinking problem that made him leave the bench. After a woman arrives in town, we discover that he's carrying a deep, dark secret.

So, that's the jest of the story line. I really like that they make people so imperfect. Tom has made bad mistakes, as has Shane and everyone else in the world; in fact, he tells young Joey that very thing. "Nobody's perfect," Tom declared.

This is another great episode that shows just how things were back then. We didn't have the crime labs and such we have now, yet there were common sense factors that could judge the innocent from the guilty. Unfortunately, we somehow want to go with the flow and not rock the boat, as did Tom. And yes, he did pay for it dearly!

Another great episode. I liked seeing Tom's story.
