Better this time around
stones787 October 2013
When I watched this episode about a year ago, I recall not being overly impressed, but I think it was because I wasn't used to the sloppy editing of this fine show, and how abruptly it usually ends. Now that I consider myself close to a veteran fan, I did appreciate it better this time around. I don't know much about Jane Wyman(Ruth Ames), but it sounds like she had an impressive career; anyway, she's a widow with a bad hairdo moving back into a creepy old mansion(of course), where she has visions that her dead daughter Mindy is hanging around, including a cool vision of a child's ball bouncing down the stairs. Look for some familiar faces in Stephanie Powers(her 2nd appearance), Dennis Dugan, and Rod McCary; unfortunately there's no Dr. Rhodes(Gary Collins)here, and that's a downer for me personally, but it's still a solid episode. An added bonus is the performance of Michael Lane, who portrays Sam, and who is the handyman of the old house; he is what you'd probably call a gentle giant, and he has the best scene for the money shot near the end, a scene which was an unexpected, but satisfying conclusion. Although edited a bit too much once again, it was another winner for a show which only has a few left.
