There is a reporter in the office ready to do a written piece on Mike Flaherty, Deputy Mayor of New York. After Mike has made his job larger than it really is, Carter comes in the room and the reporter asks if she can talk with Carter for a few minutes about his struggles with the minority side of politics.
A few days later the magazine article comes out and Mike has the first copy on the desk. Since he had posed for the cover he expect to be the main feature of the week. But when the magazine is taken out of the folder, Carter's image is on the front and the featured story is of Carter. Needless to say Mike is not happy.
In another humorous story, the secret relationship between Mike and Nikki is only known to James. They ask James to keep the secret but for some reason he has a hard time. His body even breaks out in a horrible rash as he deals with the heavy secret that he is keeping.
There is also a story of Stacey pretending to be of many national origins so that will appease the voters for Winston's campaign. However, that story fell flat as it never seem to have any real basis.
The story with Carter was amusing but little else. The episode moved from one story to another at such a quick speed that no detail was really expressed fully. This is one show where less may have been more.
