John Dehner made a long career with a smooth voice and an authoritative manner, so one doesn't always think of him as a comic actor. However, he shows his humorous side in this episode, in which Dehner reprises the role of eccentric prospector Wade Cather that he played earlier in Season 5's "Day of Judgment". He blunders through this half hour helping Jim Hardee, with the help of his blunderbuss he names "King David".
An outlaw gang convinces Cather that they have the treasure of Confederate president Jeff Davis hidden outside of town. The leader of this gang is a man Hardee is pursuing. After Cather and Hardee shoot the man in self-defense, Cather gets Hardee an in with the gang. The result is a fairly lighthearted outing for Robertson and Dehner, and an enjoyable half-hour for everyone.
