"...And we'll have to cook our own meals!"
Hey_Sweden9 April 2023
Chrissy, Janet, Helen, and a reluctant Stanley have their hands full planning a surprise birthday party for Jack. Then a guest arrives at the kids' apartment: Susan Walters (Loni Anderson of 'WKRP in Cincinnati' fame, at her most vivacious), an old flame of Jacks'. She had a bad habit of stringing him along and breaking his heart, yet he is still putty in her hands. Chrissy & Janet have to figure out how to pry him away from her.

'Coffee, Tea, or Jack' is a very bright and very funny episode, at its brightest when indulging in some of that classic 'Three's Company' slapstick. It's also hysterical watching Chrissy trying to be seductive in front of Jack & Susan at the bar. The Ropers still get in their little digs at each other, and John Ritter does more of his great physical comedy. We know that Jack does deserve better than a character like Susan, who's clearly incapable of making a commitment, but it seems that he will have to learn the hard way.

Some priceless gags involving the apparently rock-hard birthday cake round out this pleasant and consistently amusing episode.

Nine out of 10.
