Interesting segment of the 'Ed Sullivan Show'...
Doylenf21 October 2007
It's interesting to note that OLIVIA DE HAVILLAND and MAUREEN O'HARA, although never starring in the same film and who remained lifelong friends, are seen on this segment of The Ed Sullivan Show in 1962.

Olivia was then starring on Broadway in A GIFT OF TIME opposite HENRY FONDA. She was portraying the courageous wife of a man dying of terminal cancer and the Sullivan segment featured a shipboard scene with de Havilland and Fonda in deck chairs and having an interesting conversation aboard ship.

MAUREEN O'HARA was shown in a separate sequence lifting her lovely soprano voice in song. She too had done some Broadway theater in a musical called CHRISTINE. Since de Havilland and O'Hara are among my favorite stars of the silver screen, it was a double pleasure getting a chance to see both of them in the same evening.

Fond memories of the show.
