Skimpy back lot odyssey pretends Grand Canyon scale on a phone booth budget. The script isn't bad though, and a colorful array of Hollywood perennials sporadically brings it to life. Former forties sultry leading lady Audrey Totter plays a stubborn biddy too vain to wear her glasses, Andy Devine is a garrulous peddler, Stuart Erwin a frazzled Indian agent and Pat O'Brien a kindly old doctor. Familiar faces Bruce Bennett, Karl Swenson and Robert F. Simon also turn up. Best of all, and seen too briefly, is Henry Brandon, so memorable as the vicious Chief Scar in the John Ford classic "The Searchers," here playing a rueful, resigned old chief.

Dad's watch
bkoganbing6 June 2020
This Virginian episode has Don Quine buying a watch from an itinerant peddler
convinced that it belonged to his father. With reluctant blessings from his
grandfather Charles Bickford, Quine goes on quite the odyssey to trace the
ownership of the watch.
It's quite a journey through old Hollywood as we see such former greats as Bruce Bennett , Audrey Totter, Pat O'Brien, Stu Erwin and Andy Devine as the peddler.
For stargazers.
