Thinking Big
StuOz29 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Two stories in one: Two desperate crims terrorize the Seaview with guns and a very Lost In Space-ish looking giant two-headed monster attacks the Seaview!

A season one episode of Voyage called - The Buccaneer - had crims running around the Seaview and another season one episode of Voyage called - The Condemned - had exactly the same two-headed monster doing exactly the same things as it does here. Deadly Creature Below! is all about taking elements from season one and doing them BIGGER and BETTER in a season two episode!

But having said that, guest star Nehemiah Persoff is mis-cast as the fool in this hour (and look at his over acting at the flying sub controls!) or perhaps I just know him too well from his guest starring roles in other 1960s television shows where he was always the thinker, the smart guy.

Escape in Bahamas top sceret ship lets them walk about naturally a monster shows up noisy monster pletty lame crew better than usual monster preachy ending

The plot to this episode of "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" is a bit confusing and makes little sense. A couple criminals escape from prison in the Bahamas at the beginning of the show. They are eventually found in a raft by the Seaview and the Captain and crew allow the two men access to pretty much the entire ship. Now considering that the Seaview is supposed to be the most sophisticated and secret ship on the seas, you can't help but think this situation makes little sense. Well, whether it makes sense or not, they ship soon encounters a huge aquatic monster and the two scum-bags threaten to do ANYTHING to escape...including destroying the sub if they have to.

Considering the plot doesn't make a lot of sense and the show features yet another weird underwater monster, you know it can't be among the better episodes. If you can look past all this, you'll find that it's watchable but nothing much more.
