This Wagon Train episode has Ward Bond and Robert Horton having a major fallout over a decision that Major Adams made to chain up one of the Wagon Train passengers for killing a buffalo. During a certain portion of the trip Major Adams has given an edict to not do any hunting less they provoke the Indians. The Indians do get provoked however.
The net result being that Flint McCullough gets the sack as scout and moves to Tent City where Wayne Morris has set up a nice establishment with girl Friday Audrey Totter. Morris needs a sheriff and Horton looks like a good man for the job.
Eventually the Indians threaten both the train and Tent City and the lack of food for the white settlers becomes an issue.
Not one of the better episodes. Ward Bond and Robert Horton come across two petulant kids more than anything else. Reportedly Bond and Horton didn't get along in real life so the scenes have a bit of bite to them.
But Wagon Train fans will approve.
