This episode was written by Waltons creator Earl Hamner's son Scott, and it really shows. No one says anything out of character. The imposter John-Boy's part is so small it's barely noticeable. Numerous problems are handled the Walton's way, with humor and friendship and love. There is a silly side-splitting scene with Miss Emily and Ike Godsey that actually made me laugh out loud. With the poor quality of the series becoming sadder every show, this one was like a breath of fresh air through those beloved mountain pines. There's even a happy ending or two to warm the cockles and pluck the heartstrings.

We have here an entire season too many. What a pitiful house full of judgemental know it alls who to be honest contribute little to the household. Funny they won't serve Jody a beer which was quite common after Vietnam but they let him fix their cars.
