This episode involves a man who is so full of his own self worth, with little foundation. He and his wife stop at a house they own in Cornwathe wife pulls back a curtain and there is man, nailed, crucifixion style, on either side of the window. While Wycliffe and his group investigate, there are some odd things showing up, including a man who comes on to Lucy.

David and Angela Miller arrive to their holiday home in Cornwall and are shocked to find a grisly dead body.
The dead man was known to be a local bad boy. The Millers were also receiving threatening notes.
It is an episode that deals with outsiders having second homes in Cornwall and leaving locals priced out.
However Wycliffe believes that the issue is not so clear cut. David Miller makes out that he is a successful architect but mainly deals with loft conversions and is living a double life.
Lucy Lane has to deal with an ever so helpful local who might have ulterior motives.
I found the story rather ragged and David Miller's behaviour at the hotel was very odd knowing that the police were sitting nearby.
