Although Joan Crawford doesn't exactly bring images of a pioneer woman to mind, miscast she does her best in this Zane Grey Theater western about a Confederate widow from the late Civil War who tries to reclaim her husband's land with her son Don Grady.
The problem is that as a Confederate his land was put up for auction and now Scott Forbes has settled on it. But Crawford's determined to get her home back one way or another.
The plot premise was all right, but the treatment was way too heavy. A much lighter touch was required for this story.
Still fans of Joan Crawford might this a different and strange kind of Joan to view.
