Interesting and entertaining episode!
mm-3926 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Interesting and entertaining episode! Starts out with a 70's style break in /robbery, police chase beginning. A good direction with the confusion, action etc that police have to go threw. Keller makes the right decision, but must deal with I A. There is a father, witness, and Keller's partner Stone must get all the facts. The middle of A Wrongful Death gets bogged down with the personal drama of the alleged wronged family. The character driven Stone and Keller relationship keeps A Wrongful Death moving forward to the story's climax. The veteran Stone is able to see threw the fog of deceit for the truth. Worth watching 7 stars.

He's on the hard stuff!

****SPOILERS**** Called to the Cannery Warehouse after a cop was shot during a break-in Inspt. Steve Keller, Michael Douglas, in fear of his life shoots it out with one of the intruders hitting him in the chest and killing him. At the scene it's discovered that the dead man is Steve Davis, no cast credit given, a star athlete and grade A student without any criminal record! what's even worse for Inspt. Keller in that no gun was found making Steve's death totally uncalled for and putting Keller's both job and freedom in jeopardy. With Keller on emergency leave, his gun and badge were taken from him, his partner the bloodhound like sniffing Det. Let. Mike Stone, Michael Malden, gets on the case to find who was with the now dead Steve Davis during the brake-in and what he knows about it in regard to his participation in it!

Confronted by Steve's distraught dad bar owner Al Davis, Michael Constantine, at the morgue all Inspt. Keller could do is say he's sorry for what happened to his son but, in being shot at, had no choice but to defend himself. The rub in all this is that there was no gun found at the scene making Keller's killing of Steve declared by the D.A's office as an unjustified homicide. That's until Det. Let. Stone tracked down Steve accomplice at the "Ripley's Believe it or not" museum, in downtown San Francisco, blond high school drop out and now beach boy Lonnie Carter, Damon Douglas. After chasing Lonnie through half the city of San Francisco and and finally apprehending him, after falling and almost breaking his neck, and get to the bottom to what really happened!

***SPOILERS*** With Steve's dad Al Davis laying a major guilt trip as well as murder charges on Inspt. Steve Keller he becomes almost comatose, like a Zombie, and in some kind of psycho induced trance, not knowing if he's alive or dead throughout the entire episode with his partner Det. Let, Steve Stone doing all the legwork to find out what Steve had to do with his own death. As it turned out it was Steve's junkie brother Jack, Andrew Rubin, who shot the cop at the Cannery and, after Steve was gunned down by Inspt Keller, ran off with it leaving Steve, who came to help, on his own to get shot by Inspt. Keller. It was a hard fact for Jack's dad-Al Davis-to face and accept but in the end he, knowing how he failed Jack, had to do what he and to do and eventually did it. With the now relived of his severe guilt trip of killing Steve Inspt. Keller picking up the pieces, the gun that Jack took off with, at the San Francisco waterfront.
