Should women interrupt men who are trying to watch TV?
Eventuallyequalsalways29 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Raymond is sitting on the couch. He is looking forward to watching a game on TV. Amy comes in the door and joins him on the couch. She annoys Ray by talking to him during the game. She tells him about shopping for a sweater, and about her upcoming Annual Fondue Date Night. The next time Ray is watching a game with Robert, Ray starts talking about how Amy was talkative while Ray was trying to watch a game. He calls her "Lady Chatterly". Ray manages to make Robert angry and he leaves the house. Robert is with Amy and he is despondent, and she is bright and bubbly, but she senses something is wrong. Robert tells her about Raymond thinking that she talks too much. Robert says that Raymond called her "Miss Blabbermouth." Then Amy realizes that Robert cut her off when she was telling a sweater story, and she gets angry and leaves the bedroom. Robert says, "Just when I got a word in edgewise." At Amy's fondue party, Amy apologizes to Ray for interrupting him while he was trying to watch the ball game. Ray accepts the apology. Robert is upset because Raymond insulted her, then Amy got mad at Robert, and then she apologizes to him. He says Ray called her "Boxy Chatterhead." Marie and Debra get involved with the argument. Amy and Ray say they are okay with the incident. Then Amy turns on Robert and said he told her last night that she talks too much. Then Debra says she has to talk to Ray during the commercials on TV in order to ever get his attention. Ray and Robert get into a shouting match. Debra insists that Ray apologize to Amy. Amy says she is all right with it. Then Ray suddenly offends Amy by saying that the others have been sending Amy in just to annoy him. Amy storms off to the kitchen. Frank says that even he knows Ray has to go in and apologize to her. Ray goes into the kitchen and finds Amy eating cookie dough. Amy rails at Ray and tells him that he has nothing to say. He is boring. Ray gets very defensive under the pressure. Suddenly, Amy apologizes to him again. Amy says she just wants to be close to Ray's family. He asks "Why?" Amy tells him that Robert sleeps with a tennis racket under the bed. Ray says it is Robert's "Ghost Swatter." Ray tells how Robert fell from a beam in the attic and his legs were sticking through the ceiling and trying to run. Robert comes in and he realizes they were talking about him. All is deadly quiet. Robert wants to know what they were talking about and she says "Fondue Date Night." Robert wants to know if this is about the reason that he eats his foods in alphabetical order. Also, is it about his pedicures. Ray goes back out in the living room and shouts, "Robert paints his feet like a lady." Frank hollers, "Holy crap!" Back in the living room, Amy and Ray are sitting together on the couch, eating chips and enjoying the TV commercials. Amy tells Ray to watch something coming up, and Ray laughs, and points out something funny to Amy. Robert gets up and yells at them, "Why don't you just sleep with him?" and he storms out of the room. Ray and Amy look quizzical, and turn to Debra who then says, "I've been sitting here all evening too!" and she storms up the stairs to bed. Ray and Amy go back to watching TV.

Deb is good. Funny episode
aloch-3032021 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So in this episode Ray has to sit through an hour and 11 minutes listening to Amy blabbing on about trivial stuff that no one else would really be interested in hearing.

And she IS portrayed in this episode as being almost obnoxiously talkative. So it seems Ray has a point when he says Amy is a Lady Blabbermouth. She does talk more than she should. Especially when she wasn't invited over and then she interrupts a basketball game that Ray was looking forward to watching himself with no one interrupting the game. Except Robert but that's different.

So it's actually not Rays fault becuz he didn't want Amy there in the first place. I guess its not cool to tell someone to their face they are annoying but Ray didn't. It's really Roberts fault. Robert told Amy what Ray said and he could've kept quiet.

And Deb wasn't even involved. Why would anyone get angry with Deb when all she was doing is telling Ray what a jerk he was being.

I love Deb and ALL the characters. Its a great series.

Once again bossy Deb gets on Ray.

Amy and Ray have an issue. They work it it out and it's fine. Of course that's not good enough for Debra. She and Robert begin to badger Ray about it. Brad Garrett is somewhat funny here, but Debra ordering Ray to apologize has gotten old at this point in the series. It's not funny anymore. She wont let it alone until she finally pushes Ray too far and he insults Amy again. The scene in the kitchen between Ray and Amy is funny.

A rather talkative Amy
studioAT10 April 2017
Having said in reviews of previous 9th series 'Raymond' episodes that the character of Amy has been underused it's nice to see her in a central capacity this time around.

The fact that four writers had a hand in this episode shows that stories were a bit harder to come by at this late stage, but this episode is good enough, without ever being spectacular.

Monica Horan is a funny woman, and holds this episode together. She has good chemistry with Ray Romano actually, and they are fun in their scenes.

Patricia Heaton and Doris Roberts don't do much here, but other than that it's a decent episode.
